Brian Sullivan was a student at Monroe Community College and had previously graduated from Churchville-Chili High School. He enjoyed listening to music and taking long walks. He had aspirations of working in social work or the music industry. Sullivan had worked at the college bookstore and saved up enough money to buy his car, although he was unemployed at the time of his disappearance.
Brian’s loved ones stated that he did not have any personal problems in his life when he went missing. He had ordered sound mixing equipment and some microphones, but disappeared before they arrived.
Sullivan was last seen at a Burger King drive-through at 5:48 a.m. on July 7, 2007. Later that day, his car was found abandoned near a wooded area. His bank card and phone charger were both left inside. Fast food wrappers and the receipt from Burger King were also found. There was no sign of foul play at the scene.
Sullivan left a voicemail for a friend at 6:10 a.m. on July 8. This is the last time anyone heard from him. A man named Derrick Murray, now deceased, is the prime suspect in Sullivan’s disappearance. Although Murray had been a suspect since early on in the investigation, police did not publicly name him as such until after his death in August 2016. Authorities have announced that they believe there are other people who know what happened to Sullivan and they hope they can recover his body.
